Through our comprehensive support programme, the Fundación Xana offers logistical assistance and support to families with children and young people facing serious illnesses. We assist with basic tasks, enabling families to concentrate on caring for their child.
Often, families faced with the challenging task of caring for a child battling a serious illness lack the necessary resources – be it financial or in terms of support – to fully dedicate themselves to their child's needs while also juggling responsibilities such as caring for other children, managing household tasks, working and attending to their own well-being. Handling logistics in these situations can be extremely stressful, and in worst-case scenarios, where families must support a child during their final days, the rest of the family and the world of these parents can seem to vanish, leaving parents to concentrate all their efforts on their child. The strain of such an experience is only magnified when basic family needs are not met. This is where our comprehensive family support programme comes in.
The foundation therefore offers a range of services, including in-home logistical support such as transportation to and from hospitals, overnight hospital stays, meal preparation and delivery, cleaning and babysitting for other children in the family, among other assistance.
